British families explore the idea of moving to Australia or New Zealand. To bring her closer to her dear departed mum, Sioned Young thinks she needs to move to Oz.

Sioned Young feels a move to Australia could bring her closer to her dearly departed mum. Her mum had visited Australia when she was very ill and talked fondly of how special it was. Shortly after returning, Sioned's mum passed away, but her passion for the country left a lasting impression on Sioned. She now wants to seize every moment there is and live life to the full. She feels Australia could offer her and her family the opportunity to do just that.

But her husband Richard is worried about the practicalities of such a huge change. The family has a lovely settled life in Mold in north Wales. Rich loves his job as a chef developing ready meals for one of the UK's major frozen food outlets. Their two older children are happy in their schools and with baby Felix just finding his feet, it is time, he feels, to stay on home turf - not travel to the other side of the world. Eldest daughter Millie is uncertain too, as a move would mean her leaving her friends. Even little Alexa understands any move would mean leaving her beloved grandparents behind.

But Sioned is hoping her mum's inspirational journey will rub off on her family on their trial week. And she firmly believes her mum would approve of Sioned following in her footsteps. It is an emotionally charged week for the Youngs as they road test the Aussie way of life in Perth. But there are many tears before they finally decide on whether to go or not. Will their old life in Wales prove too strong a pull for them to leave behind?
