More than 200,000 people attend the Foyle Maritime Festival.

It was the mother of maritime festivals - attracting record crowds approaching quarter of a million people. The organisers of the Foyle Maritime Festival - coinciding with the arrival of the boats from the Clipper round-the-world yacht race - say it was the best yet. It's estimated around 220,000 people turned up. Crowds lined the quay for a final time yesterday as the crews set off on the final leg to Liverpool.
