Kidnapped dragons, a mischievous witch, elves, fairies and druids - just some of the characters you could bump into at the Footsteps in the Forest Festival this year. Myra Zepf is the writer of Footsteps in the Forest and joins Anne Marie live from Slieve Gullion.

The first three weeks in August will see events taking place across six counties on both sides of the border, from Antrim to Donegal. As part of the Friel Festival, Homer's Odyssey, the ancient epic poem will be recited outside on the sand. Conor McKay went along to meet the curator of the event on Lisfannon beach where one of the readings will be performed by Frances Barber.聽

The ceremonial burning of a 30 foot Wickerman will mark the beginning of the harvest season and celebrate the festival of Lughnasa at Navan Fort in County Armagh. You can experience the spirit of the evening in traditional Celtic dress and music.聽
