Saharan Banga and Anglo-French folk

Maximalist journeys from Spain and 鈥榟uge volume鈥 from the Saharan desert, with Verity Sharp.

Bigging up the start of the week with enormous sounds from across the planet.

Verity Sharp shares new music from Ifriqiyya Electrique, blending sounds from the ancient Saharan Banga (literally 鈥榟uge volume鈥) ritual with the duo鈥檚 post-punk background. Spanish producer Rrucculla鈥檚 album 鈥楽hush鈥 is anything but quiet - a maximalist journey influenced by free jazz, math-rock and Latin music among other things.

Plus, Anglo-French folk from Topette, and Kate Molleson joins Verity in the studio to offer a glimpse of what鈥檚 to come on 鈥楾he New Music Show鈥 which starts on Radio 3 this weekend.
