A woman in her Sixties has been treated for shock after a suspected arson attack in the Shantallow area of Derry. Bins were set alight outside a house on Greenhaw Avenue and the fire spread to an oil tank. The woman who was inside managed to escape but serious damage was caused to the house.

Local parents say they plan to fight against plans to close one of Derry's two integrated primary schools. Groarty Primary School on the Coshquin Road is set to shut its doors next year under the proposals revealed from the Education Authority.
