Sand Dunes are a dynamic landscape, a unique habitat for flora and fauna and of course a trip to the beach wouldn't be complete without playing in them! But they're under threat - since 1900, sand dune habitats have declined by a third across the UK, and by two-thirds in Wales, putting endangered species — such as the Natterjack toad, Dune Gentian, and Sand Lizard — at risk. is a major conservation project, led by Natural Resources Wales, to revitalise over 2400 hectares of sand dunes across Wales.
