Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet fame chooses the Tracks of My Years with music from Millie and Roxy Music. There's the daily love song, record and album of the week plus PopMaster.

Tony Hadley, who rose to fame in the 80s as lead singer of Spandau Ballet, chooses the Tracks of My Years with music from Millie and Roxy Music. Last month he released his new single 'Obvious', co-written with Mick Lister who also wrote a couple of songs on Tony's 2018 solo album 'Talking To the Moon'. Prior to lockdown Tony had been bouncing between Mick Lister's studio in Bedfordshire and producer/writer Gary Stevenson's studio in Oxfordshire, working on songs for his 2020/2021 Anniversary Tour and Album. However, like everyone, Tony has had to change his plans for the year and he will celebrate his 41st Anniversary instead! This week Tony is about to participate in a series of Drive-in concerts that will go on until the beginning of August. He is really looking forward to getting back on stage with his band, The Fabulous TH Band, as he calls them as every other show this year from March to October had to be cancelled due to COVID 19. While in lockdown Tony has been recording lots of messages and shout outs for individuals and charities as well as releasing videos every Sunday recorded at home of songs that have been influential to him. In May there was a flurry of activity online when Tony responded to a message from a man in Singapore who had lost a radio quiz because the radio station declared he had mis-pronounced his name. Tony intervened and eventually the station gave in.

In December 2019 in the Queen's New Year's Honours List Tony was awarded an MBE for his charitable work for the Shooting Star Children's Hospice. In January and February Tony once again took to the stage with Young voices Children's Choir to play 24 sold out Arena shows around the UK. He liked it so much that he volunteered to sing some Queen songs for this year's tour. In February/March he embarked on a spring solo tour to Japan and Australia and managed to get back just before lockdown started.

Gary also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus another round of PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Gary.Davies@bbc.co.uk
