Eden Project

Claire McCollum visits Cornwall’s Eden Project, and JB Gill goes surfing with a Christian who came back to faith whilst catching waves.

Claire McCollum visits the Eden Project in Cornwall, where founder Sir Tim Smit tells her how he created a garden paradise out of a clay pit. Claire speaks to one of the Eden Project’s gardeners to hear how she worships God whilst looking after the two million plants on site.

An open-air theatre stages a socially distanced performance of Jesus Christ Superstar, a musical based on the New Testament gospels, and a Christian cast member shares what it means to be involved in a performance that explores the life and death of Jesus.

JB Gill goes surfing with a man who came back to faith whilst catching waves, and who is now part of Christian Surfers UK – an organisation celebrating its 30th anniversary. We also visit a church in Newquay that has adapted its Sunday services during the pandemic by becoming England’s first drive-in church.

With brand new music recorded at the Eden Project according to government guidelines, and congregational hymns captured before current restrictions:

Stories

Eden Project, Cornwall
Claire McCollum is at the Eden Project in Cornwall, which some describe as the 8th wonder of the world.  She meets founder Sir Tim Smit to hear how he created a garden paradise out of a clay pit which opened to the public in May 2000.  Claire speaks to one of the Eden Project’s top gardeners to find out how she worships God whilst looking after the two million plants on site.

Jesus Christ Superstar
We visit Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in London to see how they are putting on a socially distanced performance of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, a musical based on the New Testament Gospels.  We speak to a Christian cast member who shares how special he finds being part of a performance that explores the life and death of Jesus.

Christian Surfers UK
JB Gill heads to Fistral Beach in Cornwall to meet members of Christian Surfers UK, an organisation celebrating 30 years of serving the surfing community. JB gets on his wetsuit and goes surfing with a man who came back to faith whilst catching waves.

Drive In Church
We visit the church in Newquay that has adapted its Sunday services during the pandemic by becoming England’s first ‘drive in church’. Church members and musicians Mac and Laura Johnston chat to Claire McCollum about what it’s been like singing to crowds as part of the drive in services.
