Episode 13
Lucy Alexander is joined by three entrepreneurs to watch customers test and score their inventions, including a protein shake and a Bluetooth tracking device for young children.
Joined in the studio by presenter Lucy Alexander, the inventors watch footage of customers as they unbox, test, review and score their precious products. In today鈥檚 episode, Tim, Helen and Ami are all hoping to receive the highest scores from the customers and to be crowned today鈥檚 winner.
Wildlife and sports enthusiast Tim discovered his relish for invention after he was made redundant. Refusing to be downhearted, he decided to come up with a product that merged his love of sport with his unusual foodie experiences in Africa, coming up with a protein shake made from crickets dried into a powder. He hopes this will be the start of a new era of sustainable protein replacements.
Mum-of-four Helen gave up her marketing job to pursue her invention. As an eczema sufferer, she found that hand and baby wipes left her skin sore and cracked. Having struggled to find alternatives, she came up with a dual cloth system that allows you to clean up messes without the waste of disposable wipes and can be put straight into the washing machine.
It was the panic-inducing feeling of losing sight of her daughter in the supermarket that was to give Ami inspiration for her product. Regarding tracking devices such as GPS as an invasion of her daughter鈥檚 privacy, Ami developed a Bluetooth alternative that is paired with an app and alerts parents when their kids have wandered too far.
Once all three inventors have watched the customer reviews and given their own thoughts on the feedback, Lucy reveals who has won the coveted The Customer Is Always Right winner鈥檚 trophy.
