On the 60th anniversary of his psychological thriller Psycho, Talking Movies reviews the career of Alfred Hitchcock, widely regarded as one of the great masters of cinema. From Dial M for Murder, Rear Window, North by Northwest to The Birds, the so called Master of Suspense continues to transfix and unnerve audiences around the world.

The programme would hear from several of those still living who worked with him as well as from a galaxy of Hollywood stars awed by his talents. Among them is Dame Helen Mirren who played the director's wife in a 2012 Hitchcock biopic. The programme also plans to speak to filmmakers inspired by Hitchcock's work including celebrated American indie filmmaker Gus Van Sant who made a frame by frame remake of Psycho.

Some of Hitchcock's most famous scenes, including the shower scene from Psycho, will be analysed by top filmmakers and international movie critics.
