Bells on Sunday comes from the medieval three-spired Lichfield Cathedral in Staffordshire. The Cathedral was badly damaged during the Civil War, but in 1688 new bells were cast by Henry Bagley of Ecton, the first complete ring of ten to be cast by a single founder. In 1947, the bells were re-cast by Taylors of Loughborough and hung in the original 1688 frame. The tenor weight thirty one and a half hundredweight and is tuned to D.
