Hockey semi-finals plus Brits in show jumping and the host nation in knock-out football.

World ranked number one side Australia were looking to make it to the gold medal match as they faced Germany in the semis. Germany, ranked sixth in the world, have outscored Australia up to this point by 22 goals to 19 but both sides have won scoring at least five goals twice. The winners would go through to face Belgium for gold while the loser would face off against India for the bronze.

Host nation Japan were looking to make it to the final of the men's football as they faced off in the semi-final against Spain. The Spanish were littered with players fresh from Euro 2020 and scored five goals in their quarter-final. Japan came through a cagey quarter-final when they beat New Zealand 4-2 on penalties. The winner would go through to play footballing giants Brazil in the gold medal match while the loser would face off for bronze against Mexico.

A boxing gold was up for grabs for the host nation as Japan's Sena Irie fought Nesthy Petecio of the Philippines. Competing in the women's featherweight discipline, both fighters overcame European opponents in the semi's in Britain's Artingstall and Testa of Italy respectively. Japan's Irie would go in as favourite a good combination from her opponent could end her golden hopes.

After GB's success in the evening series, it was the turn of the show jumpers at the Equestrian Park. In the qualifiers, around 30 of the entries would progress and a clean round of jumping would be key. Britain's Harry Charles is one to look out for, riding on Romeo 88, as is Ben Maher on Explosion W.
