Nicola Heywood Thomas celebrates poetry, painting and the outdoors, marking the 50th anniversary of the opening of Offa’s Dyke Path on the Welsh border...
After completing the near 200 mile walk himself, Artist, Dan Llywelyn Hall, was inspired to create a series of paintings that celebrate the sights and scenes along the path. The paintings form an exhibition called ‘Walking with Offa’, on display at the newly refurbished Offa’s Dyke Centre in Knighton, Powys and alongside the exhibition is a book of poetry, again taking inspiration from the Welsh landscape.
Joining Nicola to discuss the exhibition is Artist, Dan Llywelyn Hall, Writer, Jon Gower and Poet, Gillian Clarke.
We also hear from the National Poet of Wales, Ifor ap Glyn, who is working with researchers at Cardiff University, using poetry to inspire careers in STEM.
Plus Daniel Williams and Glyn Mathias introduce an anthology of contemporary poetry called 'A Last Respect'.
Producer: Stuart Russell.
