When 21 year old Gary Brooker formed his new band in early 1967, he could never forseen that within months he would have helped to create one of the greatest pop anthems of any era. A Whiter Shade Of Pale went on to sell more than 10 million copies and quickly became the defining song of 'the summer of love', a position it still holds today. Over the next decade Procol Harum (named after a friend's Siamese cat) went on to make a series of acclaimed albums including A Salty Dog, Broken Barricades and Grand Hotel. From the late 1970's onwards Gary Brooker became one of the most in demand sidemen in rock music, enjoying a long career working alongside artists including Eric Clapton, Kate Bush, Ringo Starr and Bill Wyman before reforming Procol Harum in 1991.

In this concert, recorded in November of 2014, Procol Harum's songs are showcased in the symphonic setting that became a trademark of the band's sound on a number of their albums, and a fitting tribute to Gary's musical legacy. Gary Brooker: 1945 - 2022.
