Ramsay travels to the heart of the country, Stirlingshire, for an action-packed few days. He climbs to the top of the Wallace Monument for panoramic views of the countryside and Stirling Castle.

Escaping the humdrum and weekly grind is adventurer Ramsay MacMahon’s secret to a happy life. For him, planning an unforgettable trip away at the weekend is what gets you through Monday to Friday. You need not look further than Scotland, so this week Ramsay travels to the heart of the country, Stirlingshire.

He climbs to the top of the Wallace Monument for panoramic views of the countryside and Stirling Castle. Then it’s a short trip to Blair Drummond Safari Park where he gets up close - giving Dot, the two- tonne rhino, a mud bath. His accommodation for the night is nothing short of unforgettable – a renovated ex-Royal Navy helicopter – and an evening beer in the cockpit slips down nicely after a long day on the road.

Tha fhios aig Ramsay MacMahon dè chuireas air a dhòigh e – teiche à saothair dòruinneach a’ bhaile. Gheibh thu tro Dhiluain gu Dihaoine ma tha thu deasachadh son deireadh-sheachdain thlachdmhor.
Cha leig thu leas coimhead nas fhaide na Alba fhèin: an t-seachdain-sa tha Ramsay a’ dol gu cridhe na dùthcha, sgìre Shruighlea.

Dìridh e gu mullach cuimhneachain Uallais airson sealladh farsaing thar na dùthcha agus a-null gu caisteal Shruighlea. Chan eil Pàirc Safari Blàir Dhruimein fad’ air falbh – ach bithidh Ramsay nas fhaisge buileach air Dot, an rhinoceros, a’ stealladh poll oirre.

Is neònach ma dhì-chuimhnicheas e àite-còmhnaidh na h-oidhche sin – seann helicopter leis a Chabhlach Rìoghail air a h-ùrachadh na broinn – agus nach blasta fionnar an deoch leanna aig deireadh latha fada sgìtheil.
