The London-based multidisciplinary artist selects an hour of avant-garde music created with reel to reel tape machines & analogue media that have inspired his own artistic explorations. Music from Delia Derbyshire, Laraaji, Pauline Oliveros and Robert Fripp plus more pioneering legends.

Working with sound, performance and installation, Paul Purgas has presented projects with Serpentine, Tate, Kettle鈥檚 Yard and Spike Island and is currently an artist in residence at Somerset House. Originally training as an architect, he is also one half of the electronic music project Emptyset. This Summer, Purgas will do two special live performances of the commission "Tape Music", one at New Music Biennial at London's Southbank Centre (3rd July) and then at Supersonic Festival in Birmingham (10th July) who Freak Zone is partnering with and decamping to in July.
