The first in a powerful new short story series from Sarah Moss, set on one hospital ward over a long bank holiday weekend. As patients wait to be assessed on the Acute Medical Unit, with staff exhausted and thin on the ground, stories of patients' lives and possible futures slowly unfold. Writer: Sarah Moss is an acclaimed British writer and academic. She has published six novels, including The Fell, Summerwater and Ghost Wall, as well as a number of non-fiction works, and has been nominated three times for the Wellcome Book Prize. She lives in Ireland where she teaches Creative Writing at University College Dublin.
