Celebrating Glastonbury and a chat with Jeff Beck!

The 1970s gave music fans the ultimate festival - Glastonbury! Johnnie celebrates its return with a Glasto-themed show - plus a chat with guitar god Jeff Beck.

In September 1970, a farmer by the name of Michael Eavis created the Pilton Pop, Blues And Folk Festival on his land in Somerset. Around a thousand music fans paid a pound to get in and got a free bottle of milk. The following June, he did it again, this time calling it the 'Glastonbury Fayre'.
Fast forward to 2022 and Glastonbury is the very pinnacle of the festival circuit, with around 200,000 fans descending on Michael's farm to enjoy the atmosphere and celebrate the music.
Sounds of the 70s this week will celebrate Glastonbury, with Johnnie giving you another chance to hear his chat with Michael Eavis from 2019. Johnnie will also play classic tracks from Glastonbury artists past and present (we're looking at you, Paul McCartney!).
Elsewhere on the show, Johnnie will chat to guitar maestro, Jeff Beck about his 70s memories. Jeff's just completed a UK tour and has recently announced a new album.
There will also be another entry to Johnnie's sizeable Jukebox, more of your 'One Of A Kind' suggestions and another 'Better Than Original'.
