The Book of Deer, Mousa Broch and Outdoor Swimming

Mousa Broch is one of the best-preserved Iron Age buildings in Europe. As well as being an incredible historic building, it鈥檚 also home to hundreds of breeding pairs of storm petrels. Our 麻豆官网首页入口 Shetland colleague Eva Runciman headed out late one evening to see if she could spot any birds.

The Book of Deer has been called 鈥楽cotland鈥檚 most important manuscript鈥� and this weekend it will go on display in Aberdeen Art Gallery until September. It鈥檚 on loan from Cambridge University but has strong links to the North East of Scotland. Mark visits Deer Abbey near Mintlaw where it鈥檚 thought the important Gaelic notations on the book鈥檚 margins were added.
