In October 2021, Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook would change its name to Meta, reflecting its shift towards 鈥渢he Metaverse鈥�. Today, the concept is central to the strategies of the world鈥檚 biggest tech companies 鈥� including Google, Amazon, Apple and Microsoft 鈥� who are spending billions of dollars to build it. But what exactly is the Metaverse, how will it work, and what are the opportunities and dangers ahead?
