The Argentines have recovered well from a dreadful start in which they were shocked by Saudi Arabia in their opening match. Their talisman Messi has never scored a goal in the knockout stages of a World Cup, a record he will be keen to end against an Australia side that has defied expectation to reach the last 16 for only the second time.
