The latest in new music performance, including works by Greg Caffrey, Ed Bennett and Anselm McDonnell, played by the Ulster Orchestra and conducted by David Brophy.
Kate Molleson introduces recent performances by the Ulster Orchestra with conductor David Brophy, recorded last month at the Ulster Hall in Belfast: Anselm McDonnell鈥檚 鈥淐oruscate鈥� which means bursts of lights; Ed Bennett鈥檚 鈥淔reefalling鈥� which is based on Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner's world record-breaking freefall jump in 2012 from an altitude of 39 kilometres; and Craig Ogden is the soloist in the premiere of Greg Caffrey鈥檚 鈥淓nvironments II鈥� a work written for solo guitar, strings and percussion. Also on the programme, Splinters of Ebullient Rebellion, by the Swedish composer, Malin B氓ng and new releases by Pierre-Yves Martel, Elsa Bergman and 脷na Monaghan.
