Visiting the All-Ireland Pipe Band Championships.

Fish out of water Carla Speer visits a pipe band event for the first time!

Carla Speer is a huge music fan – but has never really ‘got’ pipes and drums. So what will she make of the All-Ireland Pipe Band Championships taking place at Ballymena Academy?
Rab Lennox – a huge fan of piping and a musician himself acts as Carla’s guide, introducing her to some of the many folk taking part - while explaining how the event works. Will she be won over by Rab’s enthusiasm and the sights and sounds of one of the biggest events in the competition calendar?
Meanwhile, Helen Mark visits the home of a family based band from the North West.
As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email - kintra@bbc.co.uk.
