Singer-songwriter and former 10,000 Maniacs member Natalie Merchant shares her 'First, Last and Everything' and Mark and Stuart present a feast of great music and chat.

Today, they hear from American singer-songwriter Natalie Merchant, who shares her 'First, Last and Everything' - that鈥檚 the first record she owned, the most recent one she鈥檚 enjoyed and the record that means 鈥榚verything鈥� to her.

Merchant, who has been making music for over four decades, started her career at 17 as the frontwoman of alternative rock band 10,000 Maniacs. She left the band in 1993 to pursue a solo career, releasing her debut solo album 鈥楾igerlily鈥� in 1995.

Her new album, 鈥楰eep Your Courage鈥�, is her first in 9 years. It features contributions from Celtic folk group L煤nasa, Syrian virtuoso clarinettist Kinan Azmeh and jazz trombonist Steve Davis. Merchant shares her musical enthusiasms and discusses her new music.
