Jay Blades saves some chairs, metal racks, brass lighting and a school desk from the skip at Walsall recycling centre, and tasks himself and his three colleagues with giving them a new lease of life.

Jay Blades is rummaging through the rubbish at Walsall recycling centre in the West Midlands, where he鈥檚 on the lookout for four unwanted items he can save from the skip.

Jay calls on designer/maker Sarah Peterson to give a pair of chairs a modern twist, while carpenter Bruce Faulseit is tasked with repurposing a collection of metal racks and drawers. Robot maker Mark Haig attempts to inject new life into a collection of brass lighting, and for his own project, Jay has a school desk to contend with. Will he succeed in giving all four cast-offs a new lease of life?
