Burnley
Andi鈥檚 in Burnley, supersizing a cricket match between members of local mosques and clergy. Will her bid to create the ultimate cricket tea and add razzmatazz to the event be stumped by a storm?
Andi Oliver鈥檚 in Burnley to supersize an annual cricket match between members of the local mosques and clergy. Set up to overcome the divisions that led to race riots in 2001, Burnley鈥檚 imams and vicars have been staging the cricketing contest every year, building bridges between their communities.
This year they want the event to be the biggest yet, with larger crowds and better food, showing that Burnley is a united town with a positive future. To make sure it鈥檚 a success, Andi wants to devise the ultimate cricket tea, sourcing the best local produce and tracking down talented chefs from the wonderfully diverse backgrounds that make up this old mill town.
She also wants to add some razzmatazz to the event to draw in the crowds and ensure it's an event that appeals to all. But will her attempt to make this a premier date in the Lancashire cricketing calendar, galvanising Burnley folk for years to come, be stumped by an incoming storm?
