Episode 6
Emma-Marie works her first bonfire night as a cop, Alex responds to a suspected stabbing, and Drew joins the pursuit of a stolen car.
Rookie Emma-Marie is apprehensive about one of the busiest shifts of the year, Bonfire Night. She is shocked at the size of potentially dangerous makeshift bonfires that have been built close to houses on a local estate. Later that night, she and the team get an emergency call. A lit firework has been posted through a letterbox.
Ex-postman Alex is now halfway through his tutorship under the guidance of Nikhita, and he鈥檚 discovering fast that being a police officer isn鈥檛 all about attending emergencies and catching criminals. But tonight, tackling the mountain of paperwork is put on hold when an emergency call comes of a stabbing in Blaenavon. When they arrive, the kitchen is covered in a trail of blood. But all is not what it seems.
Every week, Gwent police officers make around 20 arrests for drink or drug driving, and tonight Drew and Rhys get a chance to join road
policing officer Keiron on the force's annual drink-driving campaign. Drew has set his sights on becoming a traffic cop, and later that night while on patrol with Keiron, they receive a report of a stolen car that has been spotted by an automatic number plate recognition camera. Luckily, local boy Drew knows the roads well, and his knowledge comes in handy. They position themselves to try and stop the vehicle with a 'stinger'. Sparks fly as it punctures the car鈥檚 tyres, but the teenage driver and occupant still try to evade capture.
