1989 documentary charting the journey of country music star-turned preacher Vernon Oxford as he takes his gospel message to Troubles-torn Northern Ireland.

First broadcast in 1989, ten years after Vernon Oxford turned his back on a country music career in Nashville to dedicate his life to God. As a gospel preacher in Franklin, Tennessee, he extends his congregation beyond his own community in the southern states of America and takes his mission to Northern Ireland. Arena follows Oxford from Nashville to Belfast as he pursues his healing mission and sings his songs of redemption in the streets, the churches and the drinking dens, and finally to the prison officers of the Maze.
