Luffy and the others arrive at the sanatorium and meet Duke Inuarashi. Duke Inuarashi thanks the Straw Hats for saving their country. He also starts commenting about Luffy鈥檚 straw hat and how he knew a pirate named Shanks, now one of the Four Emperors, who also used to wear a straw hat. An excited Luffy wants to know how the duke and Shanks know each other, but the duke suddenly falls asleep. Wanda explains that Duke Inuarashi, the ruler of day, and Master Nekomamushi, the ruler of night, were once friends but are now on such bad terms that they take turns ruling the country鈥擨nuarashi during the day and Nekomamushi during the night. Wanda also recounts the battle between the Mink Tribe and the Beasts Pirates. The minks, led by Full Force Sicilian, face Jack鈥檚 men, who are odd ability users. Just as they are driven into a corner by the enemy, Duke Inuarashi appears.
