As Luffy鈥檚 team faces a serious shortage of food, they approach Fron Island where a Marine base is located. Luffy, Nami, Chopper, Carrot, and Brook go ashore and disguise themselves as Marines to steal food. Despite Nami鈥檚 plan, Luffy and Carrot wander off toward the base headquarters, forcing Nami and Chopper to go after them. The Marines on patrol realize they have been infiltrated, and Luffy and Carrot are spotted in the mess hall. Meanwhile, a young, hot-blooded Marine captain named Grount also arrives on Fron Island for his new assignment and quickly angers his superior, Vice Admiral Prodi, as well as the other Marines on the base. Grount re-encounters his friends Bonham and Zappa, who served with him under Aokiji.
