Dry January, school lunches, Brian Friel and the Northern Lights

Dr Luke McEvoy and Sober coach Janey Lee Grace on Dry January, and Daire shares how she got Nutella sandwiches for her school lunch every day until she sickened herself!

Daire Ní Chanáin talks Dry January and can you go cold turkey after Christmas & the New Year? With the wains going back to school on Monday and people resolving to eat healthier in the new year, this weekend, for some, will be dedicated to preparing lunches for the week ahead but new research shows this can cause a lot of financial stress for some. She also shares how her school packed lunches were Nutella sandwiches for 14 years!
Jenni Doherty of Little Acorns Bookshop predicts the must reads of 2025 including new books from local writer Brian McGilloway and will Nadine Coyle bring out her autobiography this year? And Daire hears about why playwright Brian Friel's 29 plays are being celebrated in an ambitious 5 year festival and did you see the Northern Lights over the last few nights? They were once again visible across parts of Ireland. Pink and green illuminations were recorded lighting up the night sky and local photographer, Patryk Sadowski, captured some beautiful images. All this plus we played some songs from the big screen adaptation of "Wicked" with Ariana Grande & Cynthia Erivo and Sam Fender.
