Len hears about the founding of Edinburgh's first professional symphony orchestra for 90 years, Capella Edina, from its musical director, Munich-born conductor Luis Schmidt. The orchestra's inaugral concert takes place on Saturday in the city's Usher Hall.

And director, actor and writer Gerda Stevenson discusses her short community film highlighting the stories of those involved in Penicuik's paper-making industry. Paper Portraits highlights this now almost-forgotten aspect of the history of the town as a major centre for paper-making for almost 300 years, from 1707 to 2004. The paper was sent as far afield as Japan, Nigeria and New Zealand and was what Turner painted on and that Walter Scott's Waverley novels were first printed on.
