Celebrating Storytelling!
A tall tale by Lisnagelvin P5s, marking storytelling week and Michael Longley’s legacy.
Helen Mark presents Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine show this week alongside Rab Lennox and Willie Hill.
Helen goes back to school, hearing a remarkable story written – in Ulster-Scots – by the P5 students at Lisnagelvin Primary School up in Derry/Londonderry. Speaking of stories – Jane Rea marks ‘National Storytelling Week’ by chatting with local yarner Nattie Shaw up in The Braid. Writer and historian Steve Dornan joins the team to discuss the remarkable legacy of poet Michael Longley and have a closer look at his use of Ulster-Scots.
As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email - kintra@bbc.co.uk.
