Biting, knife attacks, spitting and false accusations of paedophilia were among the verbal and physical violence faced by teachers in Scotland's classrooms during the past 12 months. That's according to a new survey of almost 500 members of the NASUWT union, who reported assaults from children as young as four. The Scottish Government said violence in the classroom was completely unacceptable and it was working with councils to reduce poor behaviour in schools.
