Living with the Roma
Yalda Hakim visits Romania, which has one of the largest Roma populations in the EU, to find out why they are one of the most discriminated against ethnic minorities in Europe.
Across Europe a large proportion of Roma people are living in poverty - and are often feared and reviled by non Roma Communities. But why, after living in Europe for over 700 years, are they still not integrated into its society? Is it their choice or is it local prejudice. Yalda Hakim travels to Romania - which has one of the largest Roma populations in the European Union - to find out why they continue to be one of the most discriminated against ethnic minorities in Europe.
