Da Nang

Karishma Vaswani travels to Da Nang, a city trying to escape the horrors inflicted by the Vietnam War and re-invent itself as a modern 21st century financial and tech powerhouse.

Da Nang tells the story of the families who have lived for two generations with the world's highest concentration of the Agent Orange poison. Karishma witnesses the ground-breaking clean-up project about to be launched by a partnership between the Vietnamese and US governments, and then meets some of the movers and shakers behind Da Nang's drive to become the most liveable city in Vietnam - trying to transform it from an environmental disaster zone to the greenest city in the country. Karishma also meets the leaders of a dynamic American-inspired youth culture, who like to take over the city's seaside boulevards for street performance, when they are allowed just once a month.
