In December 2015 women in Saudi Arabia voted, and stood as election candidates, for the first time. The strict form of Sunni Islam practised in Saudi Arabia meant that female candidates faced unique restrictions. They couldn't debate issues directly with male voters, and relied on men to drive them round. But despite the small numbers of women standing, and registering to vote, those who took part were making history. Our World followed three women on the campaign trail.
