Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma
Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma became the first female Chair of the African Union Commission in the organisation's 50 year history and is talked of as a future president of her homeland.
In 2012 Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma became the first female Chair of the African Union Commission in the organisation's fifty year history. Prior to that she enjoyed nearly two decades as a senior minister under all of South Africa's post- Apartheid four black presidents. She trained as a medical doctor and was a student activist playing a prominent role in the liberation struggle. As a leading woman on the African stage, Dr. Dlamini-Zuma is being talked of as a future president of her homeland. Zeinab Badawi talks to her about the role of African women in leading the continent.
