Selling Children

Director Pankaj Johar sets out to understand how, in the world's largest democracy, it is possible for millions of children to be bought and sold.

In this film we follow the lives of children in India, denied a childhood and education, to be sold to work in mica mines, tea plantations, and as domestic helpers. Their story, traced back to their families, exposes how poverty and a deep lack of knowledge about the meaning of slavery results in the selling of children.
