Andy Potter's Early Show
Andy is up early to bring you music and the latest news, travel and weather.
Andy Potter is a Derby lad through and through and in the odd moment of quiet reflection can remember trolley buses, Cock Pitt Hill market and trains leaving from Friargate station!
His path to the mic has been a varied one involving printing, teaching, sales and Crossroads!
"I lost count of the number of times I checked silently into the hotel as an extra on the programme, and never actually saw a room"
Is getting up at four o'clock in the morning a challenge for the Early Show presenter?
"Not that much of a challenge after doing it for a couple of years, and I've finally mastered the art of getting out of the house that early in a morning without waking everyone else up!"
"Working on the radio car as part of the breakfast show team is also a buzz because you're working on things that will be forming the agenda for Derbyshire and East Staffordshire for the rest of the day."
There's a bit of a lie-in for Andy at a weekend when he starts at 9am with the Sunday Morning Show.
Featuring the Sunday Snuggle, gardening and your chance to make amends with Potter's Penance, Andy is all too aware of the need for at least one day where you can put your feet up and relax.
"I may have to get up at seven but that's a whole extra three hours!"
Outside of Radio Derby, Andy relaxes by going to the theatre, cinema and has an unhealthy obsession with the purchase of CDs: "I might not have any money left, but at least I'm not stuck for a tune to listen to!"
