Jarvis Cocker

After his award-winning band Pulp split up, British musician Jarvis Cocker moved to Paris with his French wife, had a son and released his debut solo album. Now he returns with his second solo album which charts the demise of his marriage and his on-going midlife crisis. He tells Mark all about the recording of Further Complications.

Cannes
Over in France the Cannes film festival is heading for it's final weekend. It has been an impressive roll call of big name auteur directors rolling out their premieres: Terry Gilliam, Ang Lee, Pedro Almodovar are just a few showing new work this year. Our reporter Alex Stanger together with film critic Geoff Andrew give us an appraisal of the critics' favourites, the buzz on Quentin Tarantino's new film and the contenders for the festival's top prize La Palme d'Or.

Lorna Goodison
The poet Lorna Goodison is regarded as one of the finest literary voices of the Caribbean. She now lives in Canada but has just published a memoir of her ancestors on the Island that she says "shapes her imagination".
