Venomous catfish
In a dark environment, where predators include large crocodiles, some fish have developed good defences against being eaten. The venomous catfish has a dorsal fin along its back which contains sharp spines. The punch packed by these spines is equivalent to being stung by a stingray and will deter crocodiles who try to munch on them. The catfish lives in muddy rivers and has relatively small eyes, so they'e had to develop other senses to get around in their environment. They have highly sensitive mouthparts covered in tastebuds, allowing them to taste the environment around them.
