Rajan Datar chairs a discussion between an Afghan listener, Ghazi Wardak, and the head of news and current affairs for the World Service, Andrew Whitehead.

Ghazi lives in the UK but keeps in touch with family and friends back home, and he's concerned that the plight of civilians is overlooked in coverage of the Afghan conflict.

Andrew defends the coverage, while highlighting the difficulties and dangers for staff reporting from Afghanistan.

In response to a comment made on last week鈥檚 programme, Rajan hears the views of listeners
on whether or not the World Service should broadcast adverts on air.

And he finds out from the head of 麻豆官网首页入口 Burmese about the role of her service within Burma, whose citizens are going to the polls this weekend in the first election for 20 years
