A group of this country's top business names - including the Chairman of Brackley-based poultry firm Faccenda Group - have written a letter to a national newspaper condemning the High Speed Rail plan.
In the letter to the Daily Telegraph, they say HS2 is a "giant train set" - which is completely unnecessary. The letter is signed by, amongst others, Nigel Lawson, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer and Simon Wolfson, the Chief Executive of Next.
Campaigners say the rail line would destroy much of the countryside as well as affecting 5.000 homes.
The government and the company behind the plans say the business case can be proven and that they're doing all they can to minimize the impact to those living along the line.
