There are concerns over the future of a company which runs 6 care homes in Northamptonshire.

Southern Cross Healthcare is struggling to pay over 拢220million rent a year for it's 750 care homes in the UK.

It says the banks have given them 3 months to approach their landlords and re-negotiate the price.

The Southern Cross Healthcare homes in Northamptonshire are at Knuston Spinney, Dallington, Moulton, Brixworth and there are two in Corby.

On their website Southern Cross Healthcare's chief executive Jamie Buchan says taking care of residents remains their priority. He says they've been trying to turn the business around for the past 18 months, to try to improve care, reduce staff turn over and become more efficient.

They say over the last few months it's been a difficult trading environment for all care providers as local authority's cut budgets

They're reassuring residents at the homes and their relatives that they are trying to resolve the issue
