Dr Paul Taylor also presents an item on flowering plants; he visits Dulwich Picture Gallery where he looks back at an eighteenth century exhibition in which Dutch flower paintings were centrally featured. Dr Taylor explains how paintings of flowering plants were highly sought after during a period know as 'tulip-omania,' when tulip bulbs were fetching such huge prices, that it was cheaper to purchase a painting in comparison to buying certain flowering varieties.
