The iconic Cardiff born star, wiggles her bottom suggestively to Hey Big Spender's "Good looking, so refined" as she taps her feet, clicks her fingers and pouts those liquid lips in one of the country's most intimate gigs. Here Shirley tells us that growing up in notorious Tiger Bay, between Cardiff's City Centre and its docks, helped to toughen her up. It was home to a rich mix of multi-racial communities and had a powerful character of its own.

On her 2009 album, The Performance, Shirley Bassey sings the semi autobiographical "The Girl From Tiger Bay" which was written by the Manic Street Preachers and David Arnold.
