Irresponsible drinking costs NHS 拢2.7 billion, unemployment rises

David Cameron says alcohol abuse has become a national "scandal", costing the NHS 2.7 billion pounds each year. Britain's unemployment rate has increased to a 16-year high.

The Prime Minister says alcohol abuse has become a national "scandal", costing the NHS 2.7 billion pounds each year.
The Health Minister Anne Milton says her department is urging the drinks industry to do more to promote responsible drinking.
She also wants to bring in so-called drunk tanks which are cells where people arrested for drunken behaviour can be placed to sober off.

Britain's unemployment rate has increased to a 16-year high after another rise in the number of people without jobs, It now stands at 8.4 percent, the worst figure since the end of 1995.
