Curator Martin Clayton shows David Malone a selection of drawings made by Leonardo Da Vinci of the anatomy of the heart. Da Vinci came very close to discovering the circulation of the blood, a century before William Harvey, and some of his observations are being confirmed only now by computer modelling and advanced scanning techniques.

These drawings are part of the Royal Collection and will be on display in the exhibition 鈥淟eonardo da Vinci: Anatomist鈥� at The Queen鈥檚 Gallery at Buckingham Palace from 4th May to 7 October 2012.
