Akram Khan - dancer and choreographer
Choreographer Akram Khan talks about his life and encourages confidence and aspiration, by sharing his journey from shy child to creative choreographer. As a child, Akram felt isolated at school until he entered a dance competition. Performing Michael Jackson’s Thriller routine, he went overnight from a ‘no-one’ to the talk of the town. In this film Akram explains that while he lacked confidence with words, he discovered that movement itself could be a language - his language. This recognition meant he never looked back, rising through the ranks to become first an accomplished dancer, then a creative and respected choreographer.
Akram’s message is, "Trust what you like, and it will be right."
